This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our after school Garden and Cooking Club is now in its second year with 20, second through fifth graders. The students love to learn in our courtyard gardens and also build skills in our cafeteria by prepping and eating the seasonal foods they have harvested. We have little to no supplies needed to foster this love and develop their skills as future chefs.
By donating to this project, you will get my students the high-quality tools they need in order to practice and progress in the culinary portion of our after school program!
Once we have tri fold cutting boards and child safe knives, an air fryer, immersion blender, electric skillet and assorted bowls and mixing spoons we will be able to teach many important food preparation skills. The vinyl tablecloths make each workspace defined, easy to clean and unique. Some of these children are just developing a positive relationship with fresh fruits and vegetables and we all know that a healthy body can also translate into a strong healthy mind. Please help us provide these tools needed for our after school Garden and Cooking Club. They deserve to build these life skills.
