As I enter my 4th year of teaching, my current classroom set of whiteboards are in desperate need of replacing. They have been used and loved by 380+ students. I am requesting a new class set of double-sided whiteboards, along with larger graphing whiteboards to put around my classroom.
These two different versions of graphing whiteboards will provide hands-on independent and collaborative learning opportunities for my middle school students.
The personal whiteboards will allow students to practice independently, being able to quickly correct any mistakes. They also allow me to effectively check for students' understanding. The large graphing whiteboards will be used for group work, where students will collaboratively work on solving problems and be able to engage in critical thinking as they will be able to easily analyze and provide necessary feedback to other groups. Placing the large graphing whiteboards around my classroom also allows for movement within the classroom.
I hope that my students will be able to experience diverse instructional practices and strengthen their collaboration skills with these items. My students are such diverse learners, and I know that these items will provide them with opportunities to express their content understanding. The possibilities of what can be done and achieved with these graphing whiteboards are limitless!
