This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These calculators are to help my students who do not have access to a graphing calculator to ensure they are equipped with the necessary tools for their success. This set of calculators will help them learn math basics and advanced topics in high school. My students range from sophomore regular level to AP Pre-Calculus where we discuss topics like from graphing non-linear systems to exponential regression in just a matter of one period. Being able to help multiple students across different levels helps target a much larger population than just a set for one class. This set would impact 135 students on a daily basis to push their learning into overdrive.

Graphing calculators never stop being an necessity in a math classroom as student need to be able to explore and learn topics using technology at their fingertips.

Many of my students do not have computers at home nor do they have access to an iPad. Many of our students are on free or reduced lunch and they need all the help they can get when it comes to resources to help them succeed.
