My Students
I will be teaching 3rd grade for the first time in a decade. My school is located in metro Detroit. The majority of my students are ESL students. We are a Title I school, so many of my students are considered low-income. My district is really multicultural. Students of Caucasian, African American, Hispanic, and various countries across the middle-east, eastern Europe, and India all call the same school home.
My students are little sponges who love to learn.
My Project
Help me give my students graphic novels to choose from. My classroom library currently does not have any graphic novels. Every time we go to the library my class goes straight to the graphic novel section. Even my reluctant readers find something they enjoy in the graphic novel section. Many of the topics in this set will also hit curriculum we will learn this year and other important topics. For instance, "Black Hero's from the Wild West" and Greek Mythology. Help give my students books they won't want to put down.
