My Project

Our student population is becoming increasingly diverse. About 10% of our population are native Spanish-speakers. But, only handful of our books are in Spanish. As a result, our Spanish books are almost always all checked out!

This project includes titles that are some of the most popular graphic novels, but in Spanish.

Graphic novels are an excellent way to build literacy. Having novels in Spanish that we also have in English will allow for paired reading activities and build students' capacity for bilingualism. We also have Spanish classes and native English speakers can stretch their learning through these books.
