I work with wonderful students from kindergarten to fifth grade in a Title I School. Coming to the library is an experience that students love, and creating lifelong learners and readers is a goal for our school community. The library is a perfect place for students to read, grow, reflect, and imagine! Reading takes us places and students love engaging books and opportunities to grow their brains!
I work in a Title I school where I teach amazing kindergarten to fifth-grade readers and thinkers!
Students often come to school often without a backpack or uniform and I know that home life isn't always the best for my students. I want to give them as many experiences as I can that they may not get otherwise. I also want to provide them with the resources and books that they might not be able to get outside of school.
My Project
Graphic novels are all the craze in my elementary library! Students are excited to read and are always asking for more! My project would provide several graphic novels for all grade levels, with all interests accounted for. Students would be so excited to see all of these wonderful new stories arrive at our school!
Not only are graphic novels fun, but they also provide students with opportunities to practice fluency, comprehension, and imagination - all while reading!
The library gives students the opportunity to read what they choose and I want to be able to provide that to every student, every day with brand new graphic novels!
