This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 5th grade teacher in a New York City school in the Bronx. My students are very deserving to have the same educational opportunities as other students in more affluent neighborhoods.

My students are currently lacking the motivation to read.

The majority of my class is made up of boys. They love to read comic books. I am trying to foster a love of reading while also focusing on building reading stamina. Therefore, I am asking for several graphic novel titles to help my boys be more motivated to read.
