My Project

I am constantly hearing from my students about how much they dislike reading. My class library isn't adequate with the books students like. I've been watching what kind of books they are checking out from our school library so that I can bring in books they like. I've been noticing a lot of graphic novels are being borrowed from the library and I do not have any of those types of books. I am a big believer that the more they read the better comprehension and vocabulary skills they build. We have a designated time for all students in the building to read everyday.

Reading can be fun and with some help, I feel like my students will begin to see that too.

We have books available to them, however my students tell me that they don't like the books in the class library. I figured a good way to start is getting something more updated and that I know they already like.
