My Students

As a first year teacher I have been humbled and blessed to have a great group of students who not only bring a certain joy to the profession but are excited to learn everyday! We learn about anything and everything and they are not afraid to dive into a challenge and talk about tough topics. I hope that the projects we complete will further them in their learning and passions.

I am confident that this group of students will be a wonderful joy to teach and represent the diverse community they come from in our classroom.

I have 21 students who will experience how reading and writing can connect to their world and allow them to visit and create so many more.

My Project

The students of todays generation love graphic novels. However, not all people believe that graphic novels are just comic books and our classroom wants to challenge that narrative by reading challenging and engaging books that we can align to our classroom and national standards to produce quality learning and literary outcomes.

Our hope is that with these books we can not only improve our reading and comprehension skills, but I also hope that it will create a natural love for reading and that students will see that reading is for them and can be a fun way to learn more around us.
