These books will be available in our classroom library for students to read at their leisure. Some of them will also be read by me to the class during our end of the day reading sessions where I read to students for ten minutes a day. These books will also supplement our classroom conversations on society, social and racial justice, life in our communities, and help them to make sense of the world around them. "This Book is Anti-Racist" will be used as a class read along to do classroom activities and be the focus of our daily classroom discussions as we progress through the book. The reading that will come from these books will no doubt increase students’ understanding of the world around them and how they can work to be part of positive, substantial, change.
