Graphic Novels (an Artistic Resource)

Help me give my students books. All of these books are graphic novels and all of them are considered some of the best graphic novels for teens. I want my students to have more access to books!

My Students

I teach painting and drawing in one of the largest school districts in Utah at one of the schools that has the highest number of COVID cases. COVID has taken a HUGE toll on my students ability to consistently come to class. My students are so gifted and talented from an artistic standpoint. As evidence of this, our school is frequently one of the schools who has some of the most accepted works into the annual Utah all-state high school art show at the Springville Museum of Art. My students are so gifted and yet are up against some very difficult physical, mental and emotional challenges.

My Project

All of these books are on multiple lists of the best graphic novels for teens. I will use these books as a resource for students to learn about art, such as character design, perspective, color & textures. I will allow students to check out these books so they can not only read these inspiring stories but also take home these great visual references that will inspire them in their own art. I want to help my students have more access to inspiring books in regards to both the story and the artwork!
