This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My special education students dread reading. When they see a text that has few images, they are immediately discouraged. They are all reading below grade level, and it is difficult to get them to read independently.

All my students only read books that are assigned to them; however, when I make graphic novels available, they become super excited to read!

They have read through my current selection of graphic novels and have asked for more. This project will allow students to have a variety of topics to choose from, written as a graphic novel.
