Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work at a Title I school, and my students are amazing and hardworking, but many of them are still reluctant readers. I can lower their hesitation to reading by offering an array of diverse graphic novels they can choose from.
This project will help me restock my bookshelf with more graphic novels, now that I have a larger bookshelf and section to place them.
Students love series like Heartstopper and My Hero Academia, but I don't have enough of them to pull kids in and keep them pulled in. Graphic novels are wonderful, and also interest my visual readers, who love to see the action on the page.
