Graphic Drawing Technology for High School Students

My Students

We are at a small high school and a small school district. The opportunities for students to step out of the "norm" is limited due to our lack of resources.

This is the third year that I have taught this class and I would love to be able to take the students on to a different level of learning.

In the past, we have just used their mouses to draw and create designs. With the requested technology enhancements we would be able to increase their skills with graphic design.

My Project

In our Multimedia and Web Design program, we have computers but we don't have the ability to draw; our students can only create digital designs with a mouse. We spend time learning the software (Adobe) and learn about the fundamentals of design but we can't take those design principles and apply those skills to computer design. We use the mouse but when you are creating designs, the mouse can not give the detail or the creative depth that a drawing tablet would allow.

Their world will open up with using these drawing tablets as they learn about graphic design.
