I work with a diverse group of students in an intercity public high school. We have students who have lived in this area their whole lives and many who are immigrants and English Language learners.
We serve a student body with a variety of backgrounds.
I have students with every style of learning ability. Some who are high achievers and some who have had very little formal education.
My classes are not divided by age and so they could be 14 years old up to 21 years old. (18-21 for our special needs students)
They all learn differently, so I adapt my teaching to try to meet their needs.
My Project
My Commercial Art students are having fun learning Photoshop, Illustrator and In-design programs. The difficulty comes when we are creating a drawing or illustration and the only drawing tool is the computer mouse.
I am requesting drawing tablets that have a surface, and pressure sensitive pen, that will allow students to have a more natural drawing experience, with the computer.
I want to be able to store and secure the tablets, so I am also requesting storage bags to keep the tablets in, when not in use.
I know students will be more successful in Commercial Art with these tablets to use in computer drawing assignments.
