Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Digital Media students are natural born creatives, explorers, and artists. They are inquisitive, they want to learn, they're curious, they crave new learning experiences, want to search for meaning and truth and share their own stories through media. It is my job to facilitate and give them access to that knowledge and the skills they need to get the answers they seek here in high school and beyond as they enter university or the workforce. We, like many public schools, struggle with technology purchasing and we rely on your generosity to fill in the financial gaps that allow us to get the technology our students crave.
As young creatives, they require the necessary equipment that can impact their final creative ideas, into powerful images that they can share with the world.
Since the start our school year, there is a true sense of teamwork and support within the team. They are sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have intentions of pursuing a creative career after they graduate high school. Your donation will be a great starting point for their lives.
My Project
My students are currently in the second year (out of 3) of their Digital Media program. Throughout the years, they have created several media projects and are submitted online to their respective Google Classroom post. As creatives, its always feels good to have a printed version of your digital artwork.
By creating a physical portfolio, the students will be taking the next step in their future and career by having a professional and developed series of work they can take to a potential client and art contests.
My students need portfolio notebooks and the photo paper to print to curate their art work neatly and professional. All of the printing will be done in the classroom.
Once their portfolio is created and finalized, they will be allowed to submit their portfolio to different scholarship opportunities and colleges for acceptance into their art programs.
Portfolio building is a skill and with your donations, you are giving my students a head start in developing a true concept of working on a design process . This is done on the college level and is expected by most if not all design companies.
