This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My wonderful students come from the neighborhood around the school and are a delight to teach. We are a Title I school, and the boys and girls represent a diverse population. I love my position as the school librarian and enjoy seeing the classes once per week. I have created Literature Review Buckets for each table. They rotate each week. Students have about 30 different books to read and review during library class. We would like to add new illustration books to our Literature Review Buckets. This would be a great way to add graphic art research to our library class.
My Project
My wonderful students come from the neighborhood around the school and are a delight to teach. We are a Title I school, and the boys and girls represent a diverse population. I love my position as the school librarian and enjoy seeing the classes once per week. I have created a several educational centers with a variety of sources in the library. The students rotate to the centers each week and are involved in a variety of hands-on learning activities.
My students need graphic art supplies and visual aids that correlate with literature based activities.
This will allow my students to create their own illustrations. Dog Man, Pete the Cat, Fly Guy, Pinkalicious, and the Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly are a few of my student's favorite books. These visual aids will assist students in creating their own personal illustrations during illustration center time.
