My Project

My Project Goal: With technology continuing to grow and becoming a part of a multitude of jobs students need the opportunity now more than ever to develop and enhance their coding skills through creative and critical thinking hands on opportunities.

These coding robot sets, like Dash Bot, are perfect for students to develop and enhance their coding skills and will accommodate a wide range of the levels of knowledge of coding that each student possesses.

Students will begin to use these sets during the 2nd quarter and continue to create with them throughout the year.

One of the many lessons students can complete with this is students will work in pairs as Olympic coaches for their Robot, to understand ratios in order to explain the relationship between distance and speed while training their robot for a speed and figure skating competitions. and there are many more lessons we can do with these! Students will learn how to demonstrate the abstract and critical thinking skills needed to solve problems, coding, collaboration, and communication skills.

The standards-aligned lessons will provide a variety of learning experiences that relate directly back to students’ real-life questions and observations, communication, collaborative learning, and building their confidence and preparing them for life beyond school. " Standards including SC.3.N.1.1, SC.3.N.1.2, SC.4.N.1.2, SC.3.N.1.4,SC.6.N.1.4,SC.3.N.1.5, SC.5.N.1.5, SC.3.N.1.6, SC.4.N.1.7, SC.4.N.1.8, SC.5.N.2.1, SC.5.N.2.2, SC.6.N.2.2:, SC.35.CS-CC.1.3,SC.35.CS-CC.1.5,SC.35.CS-CP.3.1.

To determine the project's success, surveys will be conducted to show that 80% of the students involved in grades 3-6 have increased their interest in STEM education.
