My Students
Periods, commas, exclamation points and colons...all of these things are so important in our language. Sadly, many students never learn proper grammar and usage in the English language.
The students live in a low-income area of NYC.
They attend a choice school and need to maintain a certain level of excellence to remain each year. The students are enthusiastic and are maturing young writers. They are currently in grades 6-8, which falls under the Middle School portion of our K-8 school.
My Project
These resources would be used to teach children proper grammar and word usage. Through SmartBoard technology, the children will learn how to properly use various elements of grammar. Since the programs are reusable from year to year, this donation will not only help my students this year but in years to come.
This project is so important because all children deserve to have the chance to learn how to write using proper grammar.
By helping them develop strong writing skills in 6-8 grade, I hope to send these children off to high school and college well prepared for what lies ahead of them.
