Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students will learn about traditional and modern sewing and textile art making techniques. We will create custom made graduation stoles. The students will learn to sew by hand, as well as with a sewing machine. They will also learn to embroider, create blanket stitch outlines, and add beads to their fabric. We will use dyes to explore fabric dying techniques as well. The students will create graduation stoles that represent and celebrate their personalities and progress that they made as learners. We will study fashion and festive outfits around the world.
