My Students
Our students are a talented mix of special education students,English as a new language learners from around the world and students who's families are struggling due to the effects of COVID 19's economic tug. Schools across the nation face budget cuts. We are unable to take advantage of this special opportunity due to these cuts.Families of our students are essential workers they have even lost their jobs.
Bringing the joy of dance and music can benefit us physically, mentally and emotionally while we learn about Bangladeshi Dance and Culture from a Famous Dancer/Actress!
PS361Q teachers are searching for ways our students to make their learning experience enriching and exciting! Remote distant learning is already difficult
We love our students more than you can think! Our families consist of families who work many jobs to make ends meet while also struggling to support their children at home. Help us give them this rich culturally relevant experience to make learning feel alive, in this ever changing moment.
My Project
In a world where we are disconnected- rhythm and dance can bring us closer! The funding from this project will provide students with authentic cultural experiences from a Famous Bangladeshi Actress! She has traveled and performed in different parts of the world, and carries experiences of a range of cultural dance workshops. At a time where we are looking for positivity, energy, and ways to connect social emotionally --we have an opportunity to build relationships with rich Bangladeshi dance and culture through the lense of an established dancer, beloved to the Bangladeshi parents in our neighborhood! Please honor us this opportunity to provide our children and their parents the opportunity to learn alongside the famous Priya Dias! PS361Q is a diverse community, and we love learning about one another! In continuation to the work we have built in Spanish dance, and in American Dancing styles, we hope to receive this enrichment during this crisis to support our community through rhythm, poise, and rich authentic cultural experiences!
