Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

First grade is a precious time for students to be in the care of their teacher. They are no longer in Kindergarten but they are still six and seven years old. I am so excited to come to work every day. Most of the students here come from families who work really long hours and love their children and want to see them succeed. My students are sweet, hardworking, and have a joy that is contagious. I have students who have to work a little harder than the average student and who need different things to help them succeed.
I have a full classroom this year with 12 girls and 9 boys.
My Project
This year we are a full classroom with over 20 students who all learn in different ways. Therefore, I have 20 desks that take up a lot of space. I give students choices and one of them is to sit where they can focus best. Desks are one option, and I would love to give the students a choice to sit with Anywhere Chairs to sit around the room to create and work independently or with a small group.
Another advantage of having the Anywhere Chairs is to help students with disabilities.
I would love to provide alternative seating so students can have a safe spot to calm down.
