My Students

I teach within the city of Philadelphia at a Title I K-8 public school. Prideful is the word that comes to mind when explaining how the children feel about their own neighborhood.

The students I teach are unbelievably motivated to attend my class and are excited from the minute they step into the door until they leave.

My students are always looking forward to learning new things in exciting ways. The children are respectful and willing to do what it takes to make our school a great place to learn.

My Project

As an educator it's important to motivate. One way to do this in P.E is to introduce non-traditional games and activities. My students expect and want to learn new activities and games when they come to my class.

Right now, the P.E.

program is limited to one rebounder and only allows the students to use it for small sided games and/or in small group settings. This limits the amount of time a student can use the rebounder. The addition of another rebounder will allow me to introduce the game of Tchoukball to the middle school setting. It will also help with skill development in lacrosse and modified handball games for the intermediate and middle school levels.
