My Project
Our school library is open three days a week. There is not a lot of spare time for library lesson planning for 18 classes a week. A new "Birthday Book Club" program has begun and a quick and easy way to display content for my students is needed. The digital bulletin board is the answer. Digital Bulletin Boards are fun, themed tools to share library content and lesson themes. It will enable me to display messages, announcements, events, and more in real-time on a large screen to keep students informed of any changes or updates as soon as they occur, reducing confusion and keeping them better informed. I am requesting Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to purchase the digital bulletin boards and 'What's Your Genre Personality Quiz' bulletin board add on.
My goal for this project is to add a new way to share content with my students in a fun and engaging way.
Our school is a low income Title 1 school. 43% of our students are from low income families, 9% are learning English, 14% have disabilities, 4% are homeless and 2% are refugees. The best part about our students is their enthusiasm for learning and their desire to succeed. Many of our students have never been to a library so our school library is the only access they have to books. Seeing the excitement on their faces when they visit the library and check out books is priceless.
I am always looking for ways to capture my students’ attention and help them discover the joy to be found in being absorbed in a good book. Using the Digital Bulletin Boards and 'What's Your Genre Personality Quiz' will give them new and different was to engage with our library.
