Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teaching in today's economic situation can be a struggle, not only for the teacher but for the students as well. It has been increasingly more difficult to provide the students with the enriching learning materials that add to the students' educational experience and engage the students in the learning process. I am the lucky 2nd grade teacher to two classes of students in a Title 1 school. I teach Reading and Language Arts in addition to Social Studies. My students represent a diverse array of reading and language abilities.
In my second grade class, we are still excited about reading. My students like to go to the classroom library and grab a book to read, but they do not have a comfy spot to read.
By donating the various rugs, book bench and storage bins, my children can still grab a book but know they will have a place that they can sit on the floor and read quietly. These materials will create their own little reading nook where they can get lost in a great book.
Your donation will help to ensure that my students don't have to sit on the cold floor to read a book. Because no one likes to sit on the cold floor!
