This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are motivated and driven, dreaming of amazing futures and hoping their perseverance pays off.

They are a wonderful group of diverse young people in need of basic resources to help them succeed.

They come to school hungry, cold and tired, dressed in hand-me-downs, and trying so hard to maintain the illusion that they are just like their peers...but they aren't. Some come from challenging backgrounds and neighborhoods; they struggle just to make it to school, much less concentrate on acquiring the knowledge needed to succeed into adulthood. We have just recently had our status and budget reflect our student-body's diverse requirements but have a long way to go.

Many of our families do not have access to some of the basic amenities that most of us take for granted and would greatly benefit from your help. Thank you so much for anything you are able to give to improve the lives of our kids.

My Project

My students need their teacher to have equipment that allows me to build innovative and dynamic curriculum to support them wherever they are.

I have so many kids who are having to stay home and quarantine…they need their teacher to have uninterrupted access to technology that is able to run the programs and equipment in a middle school science lab.

For the past nine years, I have used outdated classroom equipment that is constantly in a rigged patchwork on the verge of giving up forever. Having a computer in the classroom that consistently works, can stream multiple programs and tabs simultaneously and allow me to support all students wherever they are is invaluable and would allow me to create and access curriculum both in and out of the classroom.
