Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very kind, caring and energetic! Laughing is encouraged in my classroom and I like to think that they genuinely believe that learning is fun.
We are designated as a Title I campus, which means my students come from economically disadvantaged homes.
Additionally, my students are also Bilingual (Spanish) and are in the process of learning a new language. Although our campus was affected by Hurricane Harvey, we were fortunate to have only experienced minimal damage.
Despite this and other obstacles, my students still look forward to coming to school every day. I would like to take advantage of their eagerness and curiosity to explore the wonderful world of learning.
My Project
I am requesting an assortment of basic school supplies to ensure that my students have everything that they need to be successful.
Although students are expected to bring school supplies at the beginning of the school year, often times they are unable to do so.
Additionally, we run out of school supplies early on (seriously, where do all the pencils go?) Nothing is more frustrating to a student than a shortage of basic school supplies. I am requesting paper, pencils, glue sticks, erasers, dry erase markers, scissors and a pencil sharpener so none of my students have worries about daily learning! Thank you for helping me bring my vision to life!
