My Students

My students are a wonderfully considerate group of first graders that love to share positive thoughts and feelings with friends.

They also have an unstoppable enthusiasm for learning. They truly love to help engage and encourage each other in the process of learning to read and write.

My Project

We are working on assembling a new classroom post office center to expand on our writing options within our cafe of literacy activities each day. In writing letters to friends, we aim to not only to make our writing more purposeful, but to put more cheer in the hearts of others through our written word. We know that receiving a personal letter can really put a smile on a friend's face and brighten their day. It also helps us to practice our best writing skills. We are also looking to obtain a kidney-shaped reading table to foster better teacher-student interaction when we meet in our small groups.

A classroom post office will help us to practice and improve upon communication skills through writing.

It will also help us to share our positivity through our written word, both amongst ourselves in the classroom and outside of the classroom to others as well. A kidney-shaped reading table will help us to focus on the center of our small group reading lessons, helping us to absorb the most that we can to walk away with.
