My Project

Thank you for taking the time to review my request! My name is Mr. Orr and I teach Technology for 2-6 grades at SSPES. At our school we have a club called Good Morning Bombers.

Good Morning Bombers is a Friday morning news show that gets put on YouTube and serves as announcements for the week.

It also highlights student achievements, connects students with the community, and is a fun way for the students to start their day and end their school week! GMB is student produced at every area of the show. The 13 members of the GMB crew come up with segments, write scripts, film segments, edit videos, and much more. The students use their own time at home, during recess, and any other free time they have to produce the show weekly for everyone to enjoy. The students learn a lot of skills while producing the show. They learn soft skills like what it means to work as a team and time management. The students also learn a lot of skills on the technical side of show production. The club has helped many students in their writing and public speaking as well. Some students have blossomed socially and have come out of their shell from their experiences on the show.

Right now we are in our 3rd year of the show and are using very dated equipment that has been at the school well prior to the shows inception; as such we are trying to get a new updated iPad and microphones for the students to help them produce the show and highlight the students talents. I appreciate you taking the time to help us with our request. Thank you!
