I am switching from the general education world to the special education world next year and will be teaching students with special needs.
These students will range in ability levels and grade levels. I am very excited to bring my passion for educational technology into the special education world, and I can not wait to be able to use Google Apps for Education with my students will special needs.
My Project
Many of these students will be using the Google Apps for Education in their general education classrooms, and so it will just be a natural progression to use them in my classroom as well. In order to make this transition happen, I need more devices and need chrome books in particular (as they are the easiest to use with Google apps for Education). My students will be able to do so much more with this device then just use these apps. They will be able to watch educational video clips, play math games that are set up for their particular academic level and use different learning apps to help meet their IEP and grade level goals.
