My students are Google kids. This year, they will learn how to: *read, compose, and send email through their school issued gmail address
*compose, save, and share documents in Google Docs. *complete and share assignments in Google Classroom.
Chromebooks will help us accomplish these tasks!
My students are energetic 2nd graders.
They attend a large public school in an urban setting. Our school is very diverse, and many cultures and languages are represented in our student and staff population. Our families are very supportive, and they are excited about the learning that happens in our classrooms. My students are especially interested in technology. We started learning how to use Google and Google apps last year, and my students were so excited! I want to give my new students the same opportunities, and I want to begin in the beginning - day 1 with Google!
My Project
My students will first learn how to use a Chromebook and the Google operating system. Then they will learn how to read, compose, and send an email with their school issued Gmail account. We will then explore Google Docs and Google Classroom and my students will learn how to compose documents, send them to me, and post and share with their classmates. Having these skills, and knowing how to navigate Google will help my students this year, but will also get them ready for the grade levels to come. The tech skills gained will help them succeed in the classroom, on state mandated tests, and in their future learning journeys!
Google Chromebooks are user friendly.
It is easy to learn and use Google and Google apps. My students are naturally tech savvy. They learn quickly, and amaze me with how much they can do with technology. Chromebooks are also sturdy, and can be used for many years with many students. It's a worthwhile investment that will change the lives of young learners for years to come!
