Google Chromebooks to Allow Our Class to Go Anywhere!
My students need 20 Samsung Chromebooks and a protection charging station to bring the world to my classroom.

My Students
A typical day in my classroom is full of learning experiences. I don't provide my students with lessons; I provide them with learning experiences. By the end of the school year, I want all of my students to be full of the necessary information to make them successful in the real world.
I am a committed Baltimore City Public School teacher who is willing to work hard to be a great teacher, however, I cannot do it alone.
We are a Title I school where ninety-nine percent of my students are African-American, from many diverse backgrounds including English Language Learners, military families to single families. These factors don't phase them. When you look at them you may see children who have already led a hard life, and children who have no hope of a positive future because of the neighborhoods that they come from. I would describe my school as a hidden gem. I think it provides a safe haven for children who are otherwise faced with tasks, responsibilities, and experiences that far exceed their years in maturity and experience. These factors don't phase them. This Google Chromebooks integration project would take my class to the next level.
My Project
A class set of Chromebooks with protective secure cases in my classroom would make the experience surreal for my students. They would be ecstatic about learning by giving each student the opportunity to use our digital textbooks on this new technology. Teaching them via the Chromebooks provided to my classroom would make this a dream come true for them and mine of extending the classroom outside of our walls. The students will use our class site and our on-line access to assist them in learning new information about not only the content but our society and the changes that occur in order to make better inferences and or decisions about their learning, school, and life all together. Connecting real life occurrences to their social circles will allow them to rise past the roadblocks they will face in their lifetime due to their upbringing and lack of exposure to a variety of learning opportunities. There is no greater joy I would feel than giving my students the opportunities to learn using the same resources other privileged students have been using for years; my students deserve that and much more!
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by introducing learning combined with technology.
Teaching students to work together sharing ideas and make them 21-century learners, while each eagerly explores the numerous avenues of learning while integrating technology. The joy of learning has never seemed so bright for my students. Introducing technology using our textbooks online version, as well as current event magazines online, while using the class website with the new set of Chromebooks will impact their learning immensely.
