Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Susan B. Anthony's quote, "Failure is impossible!" describes best how I see my students' work ethic and drive.
My students are recent immigrants that are working hard to learn English and United States History and Government.
As English Language Learners my students struggle with learning how to speak and write at a High School level. They especially struggle with writing essays.
My Project
A Google Chrome laptop will allow my students to use Google Applications such as Google Translate and Google Drive to collaborate with each other when writing essays. Student to Student revisions and feedback are instrumental to learning how to write a Thematic Essay and a Document Based Question Essay.
Unfortunately technology is extremely limited at my school.
Having a laptop that stays in the classroom and that is exclusively available to students will give my students an incentive to start and complete writing assignments.
