These materials, and their accessibility to the students has revolutionized my classroom! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!\r\n\r\nI first organized all of the materials (pencils, rulers, erasers and highlighters) into an organizer provided from a previous DonorsChoose project, and then the students chose their pencil case from my stash of them that I have gathered over the years. They then selected two highlighters of their choice, a ruler in the color they wanted, two pencils, and an eraser. We will add the dry erase markers later in the year, once I top them with the pom-poms. They then put the pencil case into their binders, and now we no longer have issues when they need anything! Plus, if they are missing something, they can always go grab it from the extras in the organizer. What an enormous time-saver!!! They often write out their own staves when we need to write down some music, and the rulers just make it so much easier for them to be neat and be able to really write their own music. The tissues are so much kinder to their noses, and we appreciate those as well! I will be giving out the animal erasers in one giant birthday party, and I know they are going to love them. But the organization of having everything in their binders is just incredible. Thank you so much--we all really, really, REALLY appreciate your generosity to our classroom! The resources that you have provided for us have really changed our rehearsal for the better in so many ways, and we are all extremely grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nBecause everything is color-coded in my class to access books and equipment easily, the very colorful carts make it so much easier for them to grab sheet music without having to ask me for it, saving on so much time. The shelves in the instrument room are sooooo much more accessible, and because everything is so organized, my students no longer have to move things around to get access to their instrument, specifically percussion equipment. In addition, there is room for more equipment as our program continues to grow. The cart makes it so much easier for me to have all of the instruments that I use every single day at my fingertips. The ladder has made it possible to decorate with the self-assessments, rules, goals, and more on a higher level than we had before, which, since the classroom is so big, means that more students will be able to see everything easily. The cup organizer makes it easy for the students to grab what they need without having to ask me for it.\r\n\r\nWith all of this equipment, we are able to save so much time, which allows us to rehearse and play more. We appreciate it tremendously. \r\n\r\nAs it turns out, a lot of what we originally asked for was unavailable, so we ordered instrument stands, about which the students are so incredibly excited, especially the students who play larger instruments like the Euphoniums and the tubas. We were able to order enough for every member of our Concert band, and now it is much easier to ensure the instruments are safe when not in our students' hands (like when they need to step out of the room). They feel so professional, and as the concert band students gig a LOT for the school, it really does make it easier to keep the instruments safe.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, the rest of the supplies that we asked for have been held up in transit for over a month. I have been tracking the box and it has been sitting at a UPS facility since September 9, 2025. I know that the minute the students receive access to those supplies, they are going to be so excited. This includes things like reeds and marching lyres, practice tips for the drumsticks, and so much more. I am so sad that this much needed equipment is sitting out there and not able to be used, but the minute we receive it, I will send an update.\r\n\r\nThank you again from the bottom of our hearts. We were jumping around, trying on the suits, messing with the goggles, and just couldn't believe it was all for us. Most of us never had our own swim equipment before, so it felt like Christmas came early. Practice feels totally different now—harder, but in a good way—and we can already feel ourselves swimming faster, stronger, and with way more confidence.\r\n\r\nThe fins, paddles, and cords make it so much easier to actually feel the little things Coach is always telling us to fix. Instead of just hearing it, now we get it, and the progress is real. It's made practices tougher, but also way more fun because we can see ourselves improving together. The energy is crazy—we're cheering louder, pushing each other harder, and honestly just having the best time as a team.\"-LICHS Mermaids \r\n\r\nAs their coach, I couldn't be more proud. This project gave my swimmers not just the tools to improve, but the spark to believe in themselves and in each other. Every day, I see them laughing, working hard, and lifting one another up in ways that go beyond the pool. Your generosity has turned a group of beginners into a true family, and I'm honored to coach them. At our Title I high-needs school, swimming is so much more than a sport—it's a lifeline, a safe place to grow, and a chance to be part of something bigger than themselves. With your support, we can provide essentials like goggles, warmups, and cozy parkas embroidered with each athlete's name or captain title, along with on-deck supplies and school-logo caps. These aren't just pieces of gear—they are symbols of pride, belonging, and identity for students who often go without. The right equipment gives both our girls' and boys' teams the confidence to train hard, support one another, and stand tall together as a family. In the water, they discover discipline, joy, and teamwork; outside of it, they find focus, self-worth, and the strength to stay engaged and on a positive path.
