Goofy Graduated Cylinders

My students need the graduated cylinders which is a basic piece of lab equipment to complete their experiments with ease.

My Students

With a variety of honors science classes offered at our school, lack of funding has greatly reduced the amount of glassware available for use to complete the required labs.

I teach at a high school in a high poverty area located in a historic seaport of South Carolina.

Although funding is scarce, the academic competitiveness in the school is extremely high. This year I will be teaching AP and College Prep Biology in which my students will all be sophomores and juniors that are on track to attend a four year institution of higher learning upon graduation.

My Project

The graduated cylinders requested in this proposal will aid my students in performing the required laboratory activities for honors and AP level students. They will be able to measure out different quantities of various different substances to use during their investigations. It will provide them with equipment that is updated and safe to use to ensure that the lab will performed in the safest possible manner.

Your support in funding of this proposal will provide the students a positive hands-on learning science experience allowing them to see the world of chemistry through different chemical reactions.

The use of glassware will help them become familiar with measuring techniques that will be used in many higher level and college science courses.
