Goodness, Gracious, Great Playground Balls of Recess!
My students need sports equipment that is sturdy and will last. The items I am requesting, basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, baseballs and gloves should have a huge impact on my students at recess!
This year, my students are creative, inspiring, and adaptable. We are learning how to use new technology and they are learning our Oklahoma Academic Standards like champs!
My students are bright and eager to learn about the world and why things are like they are.
They love to learn about science through experiments and nonfiction books. They enjoy math and are learning addition and subtraction. They are hard at work learning to read and write exciting stories. They also love recess and a chance to get out in the fresh air and run around.
More than half of the students in my class come from low-economic homes, but that doesn't stop their determination to learn. We have lots of goals that we will meet this year! One of those goals is to be more active during our school day, especially at recess. Most of the faculty at my school wear activity trackers and talk with students about the importance of activity. It is encouraging that my students want to be active too!
My Project
My students love playing at recess, however we need the right equipment! We currently have two beat up basketballs that they make do. This project will allow my students and their peers in other grades to be physically active and build their muscle strength and coordination, while working as a team on the playground during recess.
While playing basketball, soccer, football, or catch with this new equipment, they will be actively increasing flexibility, fine and gross motor skills, and having fun!
Children have a great need for physical exercise and activity and a chance to use their muscles to run, throw, jump, and be outside getting fresh air helps their well-being and attention increase.
When this project is funded, it will allow students to use their brains in different ways and recharge their focus for classroom learning!
