This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would love to have a welcoming, large carpet for each child to comfortably sit on. A classroom rug is an important learning space in the classroom. Most of our learning takes place on the classroom rug. This year I do not have one in my room. This rug will be new, bright and inviting.

Carpet time supports early learners' academic and social emotional skills.

This rug will help students establish boundaries in finding their own space and assist with daily routines. This rug will provide a welcoming environment for current and future students. This rug will provide a happy and safe place for my students.

Usually I start most lessons on a rug whether it be for a read aloud or to learn a new topic in math. It is so important to have a meeting area for our class.
