it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Everyone at one point or another has felt anxiety, heartbreak, anger, or even a mix of emotions that has interrupted the ability to continue on with your day. Unfortunately, students of all ages can also feel this way.
These emotions can get in the way of learning in the classroom, participating in activities, engaging in speech therapy, and wanting to be around peers and/or teachers.
Some students might struggle with regulating their emotions during stressful or nonpreferred activities (such as repeating ones self during speech therapy, having to complete a math assignment, or even take a final) due to autism, trauma, fear of the unknown, or dealing with new emotions that can lead to panic attacks.
These weighed stuffed animals that students can wear over their shoulders, can mimic the feeling of a hug, and significantly reduce stress, anxiety, and help students feel relaxed, safe, and willing to engage and finish the school day on a good note!
