My students need to accomplish a variety of things with these Chromebooks. From writing and researching topics, many of them will desire to extend their inquiry into various issues and present their findings to the class.

My Students

Students at our school embrace the diversity that a large public high school provides. Our neighborhood is surrounded by cultural and religious opportunities that can only be found in the boroughs of New York City. We have a large population of first and second generation Americans.

Our school motto is "diversity is our strength," and I learn just as much from them as they do from me each day.

My students are creative, thoughtful, kind, inquisitive, and constantly asking questions. They are wonderful examples of the opportunities a large public high school has to offer.

My Project

These eight Samsung Chromebooks will allow individual students to write and receive feedback on their writing in real time without the use of paper. Access to laptops provides students with the opportunity to learn how to complete assignments in real time, while teaching the necessary skills of the digital world.

The Chromebook is the single most valuable piece of educational equipment a teacher can have access to in 2018.

From the Google Suite of apps: docs, slides, sheets, forms, and sites, to the myriad number of free add one extensions that are available, just having a Chromebook can open up a world of knowledge and skills that have previously only been available to the privileged.
