My Students

I have a fantastic group of 7 students from grades K-3. My students are unique and special, and also sometimes have a difficult time in school due to their emotional needs. Some of my kiddos need a tremendous amount of sensory support to maintain their regulation throughout the day. My kids work so hard to achieve success on a daily basis, and I want to do my best to support their needs above and beyond what we have in our classroom now!

My Project

My students work so hard every day to stay focused and ready to learn. They are challenged each day because staying emotionally regulated is much more difficult for them than their peers. Over our winter break, I created a small sensory area in our classroom we’ve named “Good Vibes Corner”. In our classroom, the students request to go to the Good Vibes Corner when they need to burn off some energy, take a short break or try to regulate their emotions. The requested items include sensory supports that will help them stay regulated and take breaks when needed. I am requesting motion tubes and sensory windows, as well as squeeze balls, visual timers and sensory friendly seating for my students to use in order to stay focused and regulated. I would love to be able to help my students achieve their goals and learn how to use their resources to succeed!
