I need Good TO Great books in order to engage staff members in professional development around how to achieve the highest growth for all students. All students need supportive staff that will help them thrive!
Students at TRES strive to be student leaders and professionals. These students are enrolled in exciting courses that allow them to thrive in and out of the classroom.
Students of all levels come to find a safe haven at our school.
We work collaboratively in each classroom and find out who we really are. Students lead discussions, create dynamic projects, research their passions, and begin to take steps to change the world.
We read literature that provokes thoughtful writing in our journals. Sometimes we have free write days where students get to reveal anything they feel they need/want to share with me. Our school is filled with curious children. I believe in each one of them with every fiber of my being. I am a blessed educator.
We read, write, think, and talk each day. Students and staff try to problem solve and discover how we can make a real impact in the world. Jocelyn dreams to be a doctor, and Daniel hopes to be a farmer. Justin prays that he will be a pastor, and Haley leads like a teacher.
All students need a safe haven to support and engage one another. This professional development will help all students thrive at TRES. Staff will have the opportunity to engage in learning protocols that allow them to better support their students. Students from all backgrounds and walks of life will be able to draw upon their strengths in order to be highly effective in the classroom. The text Good TO Great explains how organizations and businesses go from Good TO Great. The ideas and vision set in this text will help our school to delve into our strengths and develop teams that are highly effective. A school should be run like any Good TO Great organization, in the sense that it should be the best at what it is passionate about. Teaching and learning the whole child is critical to the business of schools. We must treat each child like a customer, and we must tailor our instruction and support to individual needs.
Good TO Great allows teachers and staff to innovate in order to create highly effective learning environments for all students.
Students who are homeless, students who are stressed, and students who are behind in reading levels will know that they are at home at TRES. We will engage with Good TO Great in order to support students social-emotional growth in and out of school. Our job is to make sure that all students feel loved, warm, and accepted each day.
This professional development will allow teachers to support students with special needs achieve their dreams. The PD will focus on innovative instruction, reading strategies for all learners, and how to support homeless students emotionally and academically. Good TO Great will be the guiding text for all students and staff to reach their full potential for years to come.
