My students need new reading center kits that are aligned with the common core standards and work with decoding, fluency, and comprehension, and language skills.
This project expired on February 19, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
What to do when my teacher's working with a small-group of students and this time it's not me?!
My students have a variety of reading experience.
Some are working on decoding and breaking down text while others are ready to infer and think critically about text. They all share a common desire for a fun, learning environment and bring a contagious energy with them to school each day! I would love to keep each and every hand and mind busy and challenged with reading centers that align exactly to their unique, reading needs.
These hands-on literacy and language activity centers will allow my students to practice the skills below in an organized and independent fashion.
-reading fluently and with expression using a variety of text
-finding the main idea of a text
-differentiating between the main idea and key details
-developing skills to to determine character traits
This project is important because it will allow my students to be engaged and working on skills specific to their individual, literacy and language needs.
They are also designed so that they can work independently on these activities and I can simultaneously be challenging another small group of readers.
