My Students

Our school system is focused on our children, our community, and our future.

We strive to provide an outstanding curriculum, superb faculty and staff, award-winning programs, dedicated athletic and academic teams, and a vibrant community that supports the school system.

Established in 1897, ours is the oldest public school district in the state. Located just east of Tulsa near Fort Gibson Lake, the rural district serves around 2,500 students. Our district consists of six sites: 3 elementary, 1 intermediate, 1 middle school, and 1 high school.

It is our mission to create an environment in which students can acquire the skills and develop the attitudes necessary to become lifelong learners and productive, responsible citizens.

We strive to provide the best possible academic, vocational, recreational, social, and participatory skills, enabling students to become valued and contributing members of a changing global society.

My Project

My students want to make video morning announcements, "like news anchors." The teleprompter and video camera, with the green screen we already have, will give my students the opportunity to do this. We have already scheduled visits to the local news stations for a tour so the students can see what it looks like behind the camera.

The students will have to research local events and companies, then do the news reports on those as well as the everyday morning announcements.

The plan is to also have the kids do a report on the school teams (football, baseball, robotics, academic team, etc.).
