Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth graders are an intelligent, hard-working, and talkative bunch! Every year I get a group of kids that are ready to tackle the fourth grade. They have so many great ideas and are always eager to collaborate with each other. My students crave the time to create and explore during the school day! They would thrive and flourish with the addition of these materials in our classroom. I know starting their morning by being able to talk and work together would benefit the rest of the entire day and prepare them for a day of learning!

My Project

While teachers and students are pressed to teach standards and preparing students for state testing, we sometimes forget the importance of a child’s development of social skills and critical thinking! Without time for unstructured and imaginative play, natural socialization and problem solving, we are doing our children a long-term disservice. Giving students the ability to start their morning having fun and working together is guaranteed to start the day in a positive way! I can’t wait to see how much my classroom community grows from using these resources together. I think all of the activities I would like to have purchased for my class will be exciting additions! I know all of these resources would help my class from year to year!
