Help me give my students incentives from our prize box. Many of the items are things my students need to complete their schoolwork. Despite being in high school, my students love getting to choose a prize.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 9th – 12th graders who for various reasons have had challenges in traditional high schools. In our independent studies program, students learn at home and meet with their teacher once a week to demonstrate academic progress.
My students live and go to school in a predominately low-income urban neighborhood.
They deal with personal issues including medical challenges, financial hardship, and a host of other reasons which make it difficult to attend school on a daily basis.
Despite these challenges, my students want to graduate from high school, train for a profession or go to college, but they need our independent studies program to provide them the resources to help them accomplish their goals.
My Project
My project makes a difference in student learning because often my students don't have the expendable income at home to buy basic supplies such as highlighters, pencils, erasers, pens and paper.
With our prize box, students get the tools to highlight a text, solve a mathematical equation, edit an essay, or sketch a drawing.
These simple but vital supplies are necessary for my students to complete their homework and pass their classes.
Giving students basic learning supplies can cause a snowball effect beginning with student engagement and ending with academic success and graduation.
