This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our active school library has added almost 500 new books! Yay! This means we had to add new shelving! But it also meant that our space for our whole group gathering area has shrunk. It is not safe for the tables to sit on the rug we had, as the rug bunched up and would cause tripping.
This cheerful, round green rug with leaves will give us a marked gathering space for sharing our stories whole group and help keep students safe.
Additionally, the rug mirrors the mural in library which is a wonderful mix of greens in the forest. The greens are calming and represent the growth students make every year as the become life-longer readers!
