My Students
Help to be the tour guide in the never-ending adventures of new readers! My students are just embarking on their journey, but need the materials to help them grow and develop a life-long love of reading.
My classroom is full of tenacious little ones with a thirst for knowledge!
Unfortunately, they do not always have the materials needed to support their learning. We are a Title 1 school that is located in a high-poverty area of Florida. At our school, over 90% of our students receive free and reduced price lunch.
My Project
When students enter my classroom at the beginning of the year, they are just beginning to discover their learning potential. While they have the desire to learn to read, our classroom lacks many of the materials that help to develop successful readers. By giving students 4 sets of leveled readers to use, they will be able to increase their word knowledge, fluency and overall knowledge of reading skills. These leveled reading books would allow all students the access to on-level material that interests them.
Each and every child should have the opportunity to receive the very best education.
Unfortunately, there are too many young students struggling with literacy today. While a dedicated teacher is vital, they also need access to appropriate and inspiring materials. By assisting in getting the necessary reading materials, you really are making the difference in the life of a child!
