Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are always seeking to become better citizens of the world. They seek to always know more about the subjects they are learning and how those subjects connect to the larger world around them. Our students are constantly curious and any time they don't master exit tickets, quizzes, etc they are insistent that they leave the day with that knowledge.

My Project

Students love to read. They love to read texts on their level on topics they love. These books will allow them to engage in authentic independent reading in school at home.

Your gift will allow students to grow as readers and help them foster a life long love of learning.

Our students often do not have texts that are both interesting to them and represent them as characters in the text. These books will do both things.

When students are actively engaging in texts throughout their school day and when they get home they are more likely to be successful in high school and life.
