My Students

I teach fourth grade at a suburban school in Oklahoma. My students come from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. They are a diverse and unique bunch. Each day, we strive to do the very best we can. We are a Title I school, and a large percentage of our students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch.

Our school is a learning community.

We try to meet the needs of every student and challenge them to set and reach goals each and every day.

My Project

There are two things kids all seem to love: music and technology.

Through the website Flocabulary, students get to experience both music and technology all while engaging in their academic objectives.

Flocabulary is a website that produces catchy songs and animated videos aligned to our academic objectives. Students may learn a rap song about decimals, or a song about theme. There are so many different objectives that are covered in a fun and engaging way through Flocabulary.

I am also requesting two sets of chart markers. Once we have watched the Flocabulary video, we will often make a chart on the presented topic and leave it up to review periodically.
