Going to Virtually Any Lengths for My Hybrid Students

My Students

My classroom is a ninth grade developmental reading classroom. It is an inclusion classroom, so many of my students need extra scaffolding and support in and out of the classroom.

While poverty certainly plays a role in their views of their education, I am trying to help change my students' mindsets!

My school of approximately 2000 students is in a poverty stricken community. Ensuring my ninth graders achieve literacy goals will be a key factor in breaking the cycles poverty often holds.

My Project

As of today, my students have been in my classroom for a maximum of 11 days out of the last 11 months! Although my school district has done well to support teachers during this time, carrying my personal laptop back and forth to school is causing much undo wear and tear, and the 6 year old school issue Chromebook I use doesn't have the capability or speed to effectively create content for my students.

My students deserve the very best curriculum possible, which I can provide only with appropriate, effective materials.

With this iPad Pro and accessories, I would have the ability to create and curate far more effectively for my students, giving them the educational support they need to be successful in this difficult learning environment.
